International Law Firms (ILF) is an international association of independent law firms. Member firms are generally small and mid-sized. Founded in 1998, the organization has grown including approximately 70 firms from 40 countries worldwide and is expanding to more strategic locations. |
Since the beginning, ILF's philosophy has remained unchanged. It is based on the conviction that it is necessary for lawyers to expand the boundaries of their legal practice, to improve the service to their clients. With the growing business, it is imperative that a firm of lawyers is capable to manage their clients' needs on the international environment. Every member of ILF , focuses on its own specific field of each jurisdiction. Through their membership in ILF, they are ensuring their clients' concerns in an international level.
ILF - A Lawyer's independant network
International Law Firms (ILF) is an association of like-minded, independent, medium-sized law firms, located in different countries across five continents. All of the ILF partners have a common international vocation under the ILF banner.Their objective is to give their respective clients the same comprehensive level of services, both locally and abroad.
When the need of an intervention abroad arises, a client can be referred to the lawyers of a corresponding ILF firm in the required jurisdiction, with total confidence in the quality of service. For ILF, it is of prime importance that a client be able to have full confidence in the lawyers of the firm handling the matter on his behalf.
ILF's member firms of lawyers are hand-picked with this concern in mind. The first requirement of ILF's expansion has been and will always be the highest level of professionalism in its partners.
Selection Criteria for Law Firms & Lawyers
Potential ILF law firms of are chosen on the following principles:
- Medium-sized law firms;
- The capacity and willingness to supply the clients of every ILF partner with professional and personalized services;
- A legal service at the international level (by co-operation with member law firms from different jurisdictions on a same case or by referring a file to a ILF partner in another jurisdiction or country);
- The understanding that the contemporary practice of law and legal services must be international in scope.
